What is the proper chlorine level for my pool?
To ensure the proper chlorine level, you must use a good test kit on a daily basis. Because the effectiveness of chlorine is dependent upon pH (see above), it is also important to take the pH measurement every day, and to keep it as close to 7.5 as possible. The amount of chlorine necessary for proper protection will vary, depending on temperature, sunlight, wind, rain and the number of swimmers using your pool.
